Alex

Hello! My name is Alex. I'm the owner of AAA Diving. I was introduced to diving in 1997 while on holiday in Fethiye, Turkey. Even before I surfaced from my first dive, I knew I found my calling; I was going to be a scuba instructor.

After completing my Open Water course in Turkey, I returned to England to earn my Master Scuba Diver certification. Once in Hawaii, I became a certified diving professional. I traveled the world over for eight months, working as a Divemaster. I returned then to Hawaii to become an IDC Staff Instructor — a rating that qualifies me to teach on-staff for Instructor Development Courses.

In October of 2001, I achieved my Master Instructor rating, the highest instructor rating offered by PADI. This enabled me to teach all PADI certification levels through to Assistant Instructor, including Emergency First Aid and 19 specialty ratings. I am also qualified as a SDI Instructor with 12 specialty ratings, a DAN Oxygen First Aid Instructor, a TDI Nitrox Gas Blender, and as a TDI and PADI Dräger-Dolphin Semiclosed Rebreather Instructor. To round out my education, I earned my captain's license in January of 2004.

With a perfect safety record, I have certified divers at all levels— from Introductory divers through to Assistant Instructors —at an average rate of 3 to 6 students per week. I have received several Certificates of Excellence from PADI based on student-written letters of commendation.

I now own and captain the Elysium, a custom built 38 foot dive boat. I employ insured, PADI certified instructors and divemasters to train, and take divers exploring the beautiful dive sites of Oahu.

The best reward for me is to see happy faces when students get their diving certifications.

I hope to see you very soon. Mahalo, and may the viz be with you!
