Maui is the most popular island for diving and snorkeling. So it will have a lot of conveniences and diving areas, but also be the most crowded. If you are planning on diving in Maui there’s a couple places you should definitely see.

Honolua Bay is on the north west side of Maui, and is known for the great variety of marine life you get to see up close. There’s tons of fish, coral, and other sea creatures to see. The only downside to the bay is there are no shops, food, or showers.

Kapalua Bay is nearby, almost as good as Honolua, and also has showers. There is a lot of space and convenient parking, but no shops or food nearby.

If you are going to be on Oahu, don’t worry, there’s still some amazing places to visit. Kuilima Cove is on the north tip of Oahu. It is a great place for beginners, with calm waves, low water, and clear water.

Hanauma Bay is the most famous of Hawaii’s diving areas, and for good reason. It has tons of tame, beautiful fish, calm, clear water, a great facility with parking and showers, and a beautiful beach. There is a concession stand and other amenities. Hanauma Bay is closed on Tuesdays to minimize environmental impact.

Another great place to go on Oahu is Kahe Point Beach. There’s a ton of dive shops for certifications and gear, and tons of beautiful fish are attracted because of the warm water from the power plant.
